Senko SGT Single Gas Detector

The SGT is a personal single gas monitor built for people who need a reliable alarm on one gas and nothing else to think about. It arrives switched on, it runs for two years, and there is no sensor to replace and no battery to charge.

Who this is for

Single gas personal monitors do one job well. They are worn on the collar or lapel, inside the breathing zone, by workers whose hazard is known and constant. The classic cases are hydrogen sulfide at a sour wellsite or a wastewater plant, and carbon monoxide around engine exhaust or combustion equipment.

If you need to characterize an unknown atmosphere, or you need to test a space before anybody enters it, a single gas diffusion monitor is the wrong tool. That job needs a pumped multi gas instrument. See the full portable range or the guidance on confined space entry monitoring.

SGT or SGT-P

The SGT is sealed and disposable. At the end of its service life you replace the instrument. The SGT-P is the serviceable version of the same instrument: the sensor and the battery can be replaced, so the body keeps working past the life of the first sensor. If you are buying a handful of monitors for a known two year program, the SGT is usually the lower total cost. If you are standardizing a fleet you intend to keep, price the SGT-P.
