Senko V-PRO Portable VOC Detector (PID)

The V-PRO is Senko's pumped photoionization detector (PID) for volatile organic compounds. It is the instrument for solvent, fuel and chemical vapors that a catalytic LEL sensor reads as almost nothing at the concentrations that matter for exposure.

Three versions

• V-PRO ppm. 0 to 4,000 ppm with 0.1 ppm resolution and a 10.6 eV lamp. The general purpose version for leak checks, spill response and confined space atmospheres.
• V-PRO ppb. 0 to 40 ppm with 1 ppb resolution and a 10.6 eV lamp. For low level exposure work, where the limit you are measuring against is a few parts per million.
• V-PRO Benzene. A 10.0 eV lamp with 10 ppb resolution, used with SENKO benzene pre-filter tubes to take a benzene specific reading.

What a PID reading is and is not

A PID reports a total VOC number. It cannot tell benzene from toluene on its own. Where benzene itself is the regulated exposure, under 29 CFR 1910.1028, a total VOC reading is not a benzene measurement and should not be recorded as one. That is what the Benzene version and its pre-filter tubes are for.
