Intrinsically safe, and why that is a different thing from explosion proof
Explosion proof and intrinsically safe are two different strategies for the same problem. An explosion proof enclosure accepts that an ignition could happen inside the housing and is built strong enough to contain it. An intrinsically safe design limits the energy in the circuit so far that it cannot produce an ignition in the first place. The practical differences are that intrinsically safe equipment can usually be serviced live, and the wiring method and barrier requirements are different. Which one your installation needs is a determination for the engineer of record on the area classification, not something to pick from a catalogue.
Gas list
Hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, chlorine, fluorine, ammonia, nitrogen dioxide, hydrogen cyanide, silane and TAR. Most of these are measured across a 0 to 10 ppm or 0 to 50 ppm span, because the exposure limits are low enough that a wide range instrument gives you no useful resolution at the limit.
