Your employer's part
This online course does not replace the training your employer must give on your own job: site-specific training, and hands-on practice and evaluation where the rule requires them.
What this course does not do
This course explains California's Process Safety Management standard (Title 8, Section 5189), acutely hazardous materials, the elements of the standard, and each worker's role. It is a supplement to, not a replacement for, your employer's process-specific training under Section 5189(g) and its mechanical integrity procedures under Section 5189(j). It is for processes covered by Section 5189. Petroleum refineries (NAICS 324110) follow Section 5189.1, which this course does not cover, and the course alone does not meet a contractor's training duty under Section 5189(h).
