This online course gives awareness training on industrial hygiene: how exposure limits work, how to read the federal and California limit tables, and how controls are ranked. It follows the OSHA rules (29 CFR 1910.1000, 1926.55, 1910.1020 and 1910.1200(h)) and the Cal/OSHA rules (8 CCR 5141, 5155, 3204 and 5194(h)), and is written for workers and supervisors in every industry.

How it works

  • You take the course online, at your own pace, on a phone or a computer.
  • The final exam opens after at least 60 minutes of active study in the lessons.
  • Each topic lesson ends with practice questions that do not count toward your score.

  • When you pass, you get a certificate of completion from M Squared Safety Solutions, Inc. The certificate expires 1 year after it is issued.

Your employer's part

This online course does not replace the training your employer must give on your own job: site-specific training, and hands-on practice and evaluation where the rule requires them.

What this course does not do

This course is awareness only. It does not qualify anyone to do air sampling or exposure assessment, and it does not teach sampling methods, calibration, calculations from lab reports, or respirator program elements. Your employer gives you site hazard information and monitoring results. If you work in another state with its own OSHA-approved plan, that state may have different or more stringent rules. The course is online only.
