Your employer's part

This online course does not replace the training your employer must give on your own job: site-specific training, and hands-on practice and evaluation where the rule requires them.

What this course does not do

This course does not make you the competent person who makes the engineering survey and the continuing inspections (1926.850(a), 1926.859(g)). Your employer must have an engineering survey of the structure made by a competent person, with written evidence that it was done (1926.850(a)), and must instruct you on the unsafe conditions of your own job (1926.21(b)(2)). The course does not train you to run a crane, a wrecking ball or any other machine. It does not teach the work rules for asbestos, lead or silica, or blasting. Those have their own rules and training. This is the federal OSHA course. If you work in a state with its own OSHA-approved plan, your state may have different or more stringent rules. The course is online only.
