Your employer's part

This online course does not replace the training your employer must give on your own job: site-specific training, and hands-on practice and evaluation where the rule requires them.

What this course does not do

This course does not make you the qualified person whom Title 8 gives the immediate supervision of demolition work and the survey of the structure (8 CCR 1734). Your employer must have a qualified person make a written survey of the structure before demolition starts and keep it on the job-site (1734(b)), and must train you under its Injury and Illness Prevention Program (3203(a)(7)). The course does not train you to run a crane, a wrecking ball or any other machine. It does not teach the work rules for asbestos, lead or silica, or blasting. Those have their own rules and training. This is the Cal/OSHA course, and federal OSHA's demolition rules differ. The course is online only.
