Malta Dynamics makes three cut-resistant work gloves. Compare them side by side to match the glove to the job.
Quick pick: highest cut rating, the A5. Cold weather, the A4 (insulated, thick 7-gauge knit, highest abrasion rating). Fine, detailed work, the A2 (thin 18-gauge knit).
Reading the ratings: ANSI/ISEA 105 rates cut resistance from A1 to A9, abrasion from 0 to 6 and puncture from 0 to 5. Higher is better on all three. Gauge is knit density: a lower number is a thicker, heavier knit, and a higher number is a thinner glove with more dexterity.
