Bridge, Marine, and Utility Fall Protection
Bridge decks, vessels, dockside cranes, substations, and power-plant platforms share one trait: crews work at height where a rated anchor is scarce and the structure will not always take one. Mobile overhead anchors and temporary guardrail bring compliant protection to the work.
The hazard and the standard
Depending on the work, OSHA construction rules (29 CFR 1926, protection at 6 feet) or general industry rules (29 CFR 1910.28, protection at 4 feet) apply. Fall arrest anchorages must hold at least 5,000 pounds per worker, per 29 CFR 1926.502(d)(15), and guardrails must meet the 42-inch, 200-pound criteria of 29 CFR 1926.502(b).
What fits
Road-towable mobile grabbers reach bridge decks and open infrastructure where no anchor exists. Davit systems suit fixed vessel, dock, and substation points, including confined space entry and retrieval. Temporary guardrail guards platforms and catwalks. See the mobile fall protection systems and the guardrail systems.
