Warehouse and Loading Dock Fall Protection
Distribution centers stack their fall risk at the edges: mezzanine drop-offs, pick-module openings, and dock doors where a trailer is not always parked. These are permanent edges that call for permanent-feeling protection that still installs without drilling and moves when the layout changes.
The hazard and the standard
General industry fall protection under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.28 requires guarding walking-working surfaces 4 feet or more above a lower level, including runways, dockboards, and open-sided floors. A compliant guardrail sits 42 inches, plus or minus 3 inches, and withstands at least 200 pounds, per 29 CFR 1926.502(b).
What fits
Free-standing weighted-base and clamp-mounted guardrail guards mezzanine edges and dock openings without penetrating the slab. For trailer-top loading and elevated equipment access, a davit or mobile anchor provides overhead tie-off. See the guardrail systems and the mobile fall protection systems.
Common applications
