This course does not qualify you to weld and does not replace hands-on practice with a torch or an extinguisher. The rule sets no minimum training time. The fire watch of at least a half hour after the work is a work practice, not a training duration. This course covers general industry, not the construction welding rules (29 CFR 1926). This is the federal OSHA course. If you work in a state with its own OSHA-approved plan, your state may have different or more stringent rules.
