Your employer must still give you site-specific training and hands-on practice on the equipment you use, instruct you on the hazards of your work (8 CCR 1510(a), 3203(a)(7)), and keep your training records under 8 CCR 3203(b). The course covers construction work only. It does not teach structural steel erection (Section 1710), structural wood framing systems (Section 1716.1), or residential-type framing and roofing (Sections 1716.2 and 1731), which have their own fall protection sections. Work that is not construction follows the General Industry Safety Orders. This is the Cal\/OSHA course, and federal OSHA's rules differ in several places.
