Your employer must have a qualified person make a written survey of the structure before demolition starts and keep it on the job-site (1734(b)), and must train you under its Injury and Illness Prevention Program (3203(a)(7)). The course does not train you to run a crane, a wrecking ball or any other machine. It does not teach the work rules for asbestos, lead or silica, or blasting. Those have their own rules and training. This is the Cal\/OSHA course, and federal OSHA's demolition rules differ.
